Volleyball Volleyball is a team sport played with a ball and a net. There are teams on each side of the net. One team hits the ball over the net and into the other team's court, the other team must then hit the ball back over the net and in bounds within three tries without letting the ball touch the ground.  There are two main kinds of competitive volleyball played in the world right now. They are team volleyball and beach volleyball. Both are Olympic sports and have competitive leagues. Team volleyball is played indoors on a hard court with 6 people per team. Beach volleyball is played outdoors on the sand with 2 players per team. The rules, strategy, and discussion here will focus on team volleyball.  Volleyball can be a lot of fun to play. To play with friends you can play with any number of people and most anyone can join in. Good height and jumping ability helps a lot. 

Ex. 13 The story was told by a man Burton . He told about his young namesake . He was a handsome man , who liked play cards . One day he came to storyteller and asked him for a job . But it turned out that he could not do anything except swimming . And then the storyteller suggested him to swim round the  beacon and to land at the creek of Tarumi . Young Burton didn't want to do it , but he had no choice . They agreed to meet at the creek the next day at half past twelve . The next day when Burton came to the creek , he could not find his namesake , he drowned . They could not find him for about three days . When Burton's companion asked him if he knew that his namesake would drown , he smiled and said that he just didn't have a vacancy at that moment . I think that Burton went crazy , because a normal man would not consciously send a man to death .

University of Oxford . University of Oxford - one of the most famous and prestigious universities in the world, located in Southeast England. It is  included in the seven "old universities" of Great Britain and Ireland and it is considered to be the very first university in the British Isles. Oxford is a member of the elite group "Russell", consisting of 24 best universities in England. The university consists of 38 colleges. And I would like to tell you about one of them . Oxford Brookes University is located in the historic student city . It is included in the list of the best universities in the world in 16 subject categories. The university was founded in 1865 as the Oxford School of Art. It is the only modern university in the UK that has the highest rating of teaching quality in 24 subjects. Education in Russia and education in Great Britain. Education in every country has it's own features . I would like to tell about education in Russia and in Great Britain . And I'm going to compare them . The first and the most obvious difference is that Russian children go to school when they are 6 years old , and British children go to school when they are 5 . Children  in Great Britain study for 13 years , when here in Russia we study for 11 years . Pupils in Russia have compulsory subjects which they have to study , they can't refuse from any of them . But in Great Britain pupils of high school choose 3 or 4 subjects which they would like to study to enter the university. And I think the second variant of education is more preferable , at least for me . For example, I had to study chemistry , physics and biology , which I didn't understand at all , I just wasted my time . Instead of these lessons I would like to have more English and Literature classes. And...

Dear Ann, Now , I am a first year student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages . I like everything here : classmates , teachers , hostel , canteen and so on. In the first days at the university you feel like a child who comes to the first class . Everything is new to you , nothing is clear , you can feel immediately the difference between the school and the university . Sometimes you can feel how ignorant you are . Here you can meet bright and interesting people . I think going to the university a man crosses the line between childhood and adult life . Now only you are resposible for your actions . I am so excited about the new chapter of my life , that I must share this with someone . I hope I have not bored you yet . Good-bye Ann , wish you all the best . Asya.

Judy In the first letter , Judy tells Daddy about her first days in college . She shares her anxieties and worries . She tells about her failures and mistakes that she makes from the first day of study . Having read the letter , we can imagine an unsure , slightly educated girl who is just beginning to learn the world .  In the second letter , she tells about her study in the second year of college , about the new subjects she is studying in college . Here I can imagine an adult , self-confident, educated girl who has her specific goals and seeks to realize them . I think her last words mean that she is going to study all her life.
